What is required for a custom packaging box quote?

Before you ask custom packaging box supplier for a quote, what information do you need to provide for a quote?
This is a frequently asked question for many customers, especially for some new customers.  Generally the information we need includes box style, order quantity, dimension(length*width*depth), material, printing, surface finishing, workmanships,as well as  inserts.  Please read the details as below.

1. Box Style
Usually there are box styles like lid and base box, tuck end paper box, book shaped box, drawer box, mailer box, irregular style boxes,etc. Different styles of box are with different making processings,it's different from material, moulding,processings,etc and the costs are different.

2. Order Qty
It's not difficult for you to understand that unit price is affected by the order qty. Take, for example, when you make 500pcs and 2000pcs, material wastes and labor force are almost the same, printing machine operation is with additional half an hour only. BUT the average unit cost for 500pcs and 2000pcs,it is with much difference,isn't it?

3. Box Specification
Specification usually refers to the box dimension such as length*width*depth. This is the major factor affecting the box cost, as it is something concerning the material consumption. Besides, please also make sure you are not confused about the length,width and depth which would affect the accurate cost when we figure out the cost.

4. Material
The most frequently used materials include white paperboard, white card paper, art paper,kraft paper, gold card paper, and some special paper called as "fancy paper".
Each kind of paper is with different specifications and their thickness vary. Fancy paper cost is higher and its minimum order qty is bigger as well.

5. Printing
Printing is a very important factor for the quotation.The difference between 4color and 1color is not only concerning the colors but it's related to the machines as well. The cost is different from Whole plate color and partial printing. So, a good presentation of the design or image is necessary.

6. Workmanships.
​Normally workmanships include gold foil stamping, silver foil stamping, embossing, debossing, UV, Lamination,etc.  Cost is different from different workmanships. The workmanship size also affects the costs.

7. Inserts
Box insert is optional. Usually for box insert, we can choose paper insert, EPE insert,  Foam insert, EVA insert, Blister insert,etc. Among them, EVA is the most expensive one.  Box insert options normally depends on what product you need to pack.
